Intro
PRINCIPLE: What God requires, He provides.
A. PERSONS REVERENCED IN PRAYER (2 Thessalonians 2:16).
1. Our Lord Jesus Christ Himself.
2. God our Father.
B. PAST BLESSINGS REMEMBERED IN PRAYER (2 Thessalonians 2:16).
1. who has loved us.
2. given us eternal comfort.
3. good hope.
4. by grace.
C. PRESENT BLESSINGS REQUESTED IN PRAYER (2 Thessalonians 2:17).
1. comfort your hearts.
2. Strengthen your hearts.
3. in every good work and word.
4. The importance of the Scriptures and the Holy Spirit (2 Thessalonians 2:15).
Conclusion
Study questions: How does Paul refer to the Trinity? Why does he refer to Christ first? Why is remembering our past blessings important? Why is prayer so important? What was the fruit Paul wanted in their lives from this prayer? What are some of the means of grace God uses in giving us these blessings?
